The Team
Cliff Lines
Known locally as ‘Cliff the Clock’ leases Marsh Stables to
us and we are very fortunate to have the opportunity to work with him. He spent
many, many years in racing working for some fantastic trainers including Sirs
Noel Murless and Michael Stoute. Horse ridden in his time have included J O
Tobin, Shergar, Sonic Lady, Ballgown and the love of his life, Tiger Shot. He
has forgotten more than most people know!
Sue Lines
Sue is fantastic to have around and known for the tea, coffee and
bacon sarnie production line that can be found in her kitchen.
Julia
Wilson
Julia is an old
friend who rides out for us on occasion, usually Saturday mornings. She now
works in the biotech industry but has a long history in racing, riding out for
Jayne and Antony Webber, Dave Thom, Cliff and John Scargill. She is known for
being always 'very busy' and often does not have the time to complete tasks
such as getting dressed fully before coming in -on occasion, forgetting most
of her underwear! I am not sure Dave Thom ever recovered from that properly
but I am waiting in hope!.... She is a brave and good rider so an asset to us
when she does have the time to dress and pop-in!
Our Farrier -
Mike
Mike is one of
our most valuable members. He comes in to the yard regularly and has sorted
out a couple of problem feet quickly. Once candidate for his skills is
Welcome Releaf, who has had horrible feet. Mike has done a great job on him
and his feet are in fantastic shape and condition now. Mike is superb with
tricky horses and has a great technique for getting them to stand calmly - I
won't explain more but 'bang, bang, bangity, bang' seems to work!
